Martin's Country Store

I (Justus Martin) started Martin’s Country Store in November of 2002 in a 16x40 storage barn on Route 11. It wasn’t much—but it was a place to begin.

Before that, I worked at North Country Store in Philadelphia, NY—a small, family-run business that left a lasting impression on me. It was during those years I felt a calling to build something of my own. With my wife Martha and our young family, we stepped out and started Martin’s with a simple goal: to give small-town families a place to buy wholesome groceries close to home, at a fair price.

As more people came, we grew—and traded the shed for an old building in Moira.

Our community support even allowed us to open additional locations, and continuing to improve step by step.

Over the years, this business has become more than just a store. It’s been a place to serve, to grow, and to work alongside our family every day.

Then in 2025, something special happened.

We were given the opportunity to purchase the very building where I once worked—the North Country Store in Philadelphia. Over 20 years later, we found ourselves back where it all began.

We’re humbled to step into that space again—not just to run a store, but to serve the same kind of community that first inspired us.

Food brings people together. And we believe everyone deserves access to it, close to home.

From a small storage barn… to coming full circle—

we’re grateful for every step of the journey, and for every customer who has been part of it.
